Meet the Staff…
Pastor Sean Koos
Pastor Sean Koos came to us in Nov 2019 after serving in rural Nebraska for 5.5 years. He earned his M.Div. degree from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN and his bachelor’s degree from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. Prior to his calling into ministry, he served in the Air Force and was stationed in Texas, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Nevada, and North Dakota. He is an oblate at the St. Scholastica monastery in Duluth and enjoys singing with a variety of local choirs. He also likes to oil paint, read, and golf. He has a busy household with wife, Johanna (Jo), 3 young kids (Samantha-10, Jamie-8, and Lincoln-7) and an older daughter, Tori-21 (living in the Twin Cities), 2 dogs (Gus and Suki), 4 cats (Luke, Phoebe, Thalia, and Zelda), and an old fish (Dr. Black) that refuses to die! He performs weddings, funerals, baptisms, and confirmations in addition to weekly services. He would love getting to know you and helping you grow in your faith.
Doris Maki – Secretary
Doris faithfully runs the operation of the office. Without her, Pastor Sean would be at a loss. When she isn’t holding the church together, she’s likely out walking her 15-year-old dog, Bob, or hitting balls around the golf course.
Johanna Holonen
Johanna Holonen plays the piano for worship and accompanies the choir. She is married to Josh and together, they are remodeling the house they recently purchased in Poplar. Johanna made sure the new house had room for both the grand piano and a dining table.
